誰都不會想被騙，所以才會去追求真相。尤其在這麼後現代的社會，各種價值面臨崩解又重新建構的時刻，我們這些著急的人們，更會迫於追求可以相信的事實。占卜、通靈、宗教信仰等，也因應而生，專門解決我們毫無頭緒、一切不確定的生活，指引我們一條可行的方向。然而，你真的想知道真相嗎？真相有時是很傷人的，又有多少人能夠在知道真相之後，還有勇氣繼續走下去？

這是《駭客任務》中，藍色藥丸和紅色藥丸的問題。吞下藍色藥丸，你留在母體，留在數位建構出來的虛擬世界。吞下紅色藥丸，你從母體醒過來，迎接你的是斷垣殘壁的反烏托邦。如果你是尼歐，你會選擇紅色藥丸還是藍色藥丸？因為電影中莫斐斯沒有告訴他真正的世界是怎樣的，尼歐出於好奇心會想要吞下紅色藥丸，親眼看看那個真實世界的樣貌。但以人性而言，如果我們知道真相是如此殘酷，大半的人應該都會選擇藍色藥丸吧？甚至像賽佛一樣變節，只為了享受安逸的感官體驗。沒有真相，我們的生活就不必那麼辛苦，就能繼續享受安定。

Paloma Faith這首歌，收錄在同名專輯中第五首。歌詞沒有講的這麼深，可是同樣點出「真相傷人」的事實。我們有沒有勇氣去接受真相？許多人以為有。但事實上，更多人會寧願活在美好的假象裡，繼續安定下去。

你要當個痛苦的哲人，還是快樂的豬呢？這真是兩難的情形。不過，當快樂的豬變成了痛苦的豬，這又是另外一回事了。
